About the Role

The Lead Application Security Engineer role is responsible for implementing measures to ensure the security of Arctic Wolf software systems, applications, code, and related components. This role will work within our Information Security Engineering team to deploy and operationalize technical security capabilities with open collaboration with the Research and Development Team.

  • Develop secure coding & secure design principles.
  • Train developers, architects, code reviewers, and others on secure coding practices.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Application Security, providing guidance to Engineering and Product teams.
  • Develop standards and training for security testing tools focused on the application layer (e.g., SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA), threat modeling, penetration testing, red team, bug bounty and vulnerability management.
  • Work with development teams throughout the entire SDLC to ensure code is secure by design, secure by default, secure in deployment and communication, and automated.
  • Help software development teams to understand and remediate security findings within prescribed timelines.
  • Research and review any reported or suspected application vulnerabilities from third party library and source code.
  • Implement, configure, and train/document off-the-shelf application security technologies in the Arctic Wolf internal environment.
  • Create technical approaches to implementing application security control technologies. Perform risk assessments of identified vulnerabilities and mitigations.
  • Contribute to a world-class security program that supports Arctic Wolf’s tremendous growth.
  • Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies.
  • Assist in developing security related libraries and tools to facilitate operations within our environment.
  • Security metrics delivery and improvements.
  • The ability to effectively partner and communicate with Engineering and Product teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, cybersecurity or related technical field; or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in security or infrastructure engineering Including assessing and escalating to vendors for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Thorough understanding of modern software development practices.
  • Thorough understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and corresponding best practices for mitigation.
  • Experience in deploying application security technologies such as SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructures, with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Azure considered a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes is a huge plus.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions.
  • Significant prior experience securing large-scale web applications, including performing security code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and manual testing for logic flaws.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (SOX, ISO 27001, etc).
  • One or more Industry Certifications – (CISSP, CCSP, CSLP, OSCP, OSWE, GPEN, GWAPT, CEH, etc).

  • Knowledge and understanding of all integrations that exist within your tool set and how changes, enhancements and new functionality mesh with and possibly affect the AWN application ecosystem.
  • Reference and update (where applicable) existing documentation regarding Salesforce support and enhancement management.
  • Troubleshoot outages and produce root cause analysis reports as needed. Ability to communicate with leaders and/or executive leadership as needed with updates during and after emergency outage windows.
  • Install new Managed Packages and tools within Salesforce environment.
  • Provide technical support and assistance as required to strengthen relationships between Business Applications and primary stakeholders within internal user community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years Salesforce administration and/or development experience.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification required
  • Willingness to continue growing through experience and/or study and certification
  • In-depth knowledge of the standard capabilities of Salesforce.
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ
  • Detail oriented and self-starter with strong written and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative and consultative abilities to work with non-technical end users
  • Aptitude for eliciting user requirements and developing both process and technical solutions
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of the Lead to Book Sales lifecycle within a SaaS company
  • Team player with a positive “can-do” attitude

  • Lead a cross-functional team from HW, SW, Central, and Diagnostic engineering, manufacturing, product management, and customer support to deliver outstanding products to the market.
  • Based on the information presented you must be able to predict how delivery slips or quality issues in one function will affect others on the team. Anticipate the impact and prepare contingency plans.

  • Significant working knowledge of hardware development.
  • Proven track record of managing hardware projects and delivering on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, develop and implement new processes.
  • Experience interfacing with product management, internal engineering team, CM’s
  • Ability to listen and simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and prepare summaries for executives and stakeholders.
  • Education: BSEE/ME/IE degree or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $121,000 to $187,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location.

The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. Employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, income protection and a Group Retirement Savings Plan.
