As the Southwest Regional Sales Manager, you will be entrusted with building and owning strong relationships with partners, prospects and customers and evangelizing our value proposition with various stakeholders. Ultimately, you will be responsible for building high growth and repeatable business in your territory.

This is an amazing opportunity for a senior sales professional who has a history of completely dominating their territory and who wants to make an impact on building the next iconic company. Leveraging partners to drive growth, you will also work with systems engineering, customer success, product management, professional services, support, and finance teams. You would have 3-5 years recent experience in Enterprise Sales including Data Protection or Cyber Security, as well as a strong understanding and connections with channel partners covering this region.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for each account to develop relationships with key stakeholders, evangelize value proposition and win renewable business.
  • Offer a white-glove experience to customers. Be a trusted advisor for prospects and customers about the problem areas we solve. Develop expert-level knowledge of the value proposition
  • Meticulously orchestrate all customer activities and engagements, involving systems engineering, product management, customer support, and finance
  • Promptly share all customer information with internal teams using our CRM tools
  • Build a strong pipeline of opportunities in your region
  • Provide accurate forecasting of quarterly bookings and business plan
  • Collaborate with marketing for important events

Required Qualifications

  • Experience establishing and fostering strong Channel Partner relationships.
  • Pre-existing relationships with key resellers in the assigned territory is a must

You will work proactively with your technology and business colleagues to identify and quantify security issues within their business and empower them to take decisive risk decisions at speed and scale. You’re an expert security with a strong mix of technical and communication skills and are passionate about enabling safe and secure innovation. You will work with some of the best and brightest cybersecurity and technology engineers to solve complex problems which will both challenge you and help you develop your skills in one of the most innovative and respected companies in the world.

  • Cultivating security culture with your product technology and business colleagues. Products that have the right security culture will strive to prioritize sustainable controls and driving real risk reduction outcomes. Embed threat modelling, solutions architecture, secure code review into product and application teams so they adopt our control products and create products that are secure from the start.
  • Being fluent in your product’s strategy and roadmap as well as its key investment programs. Identify unfamiliar technology components, capabilities, and business concepts and be self-motivated to learn all about them, applying critical thinking to identify hidden issues along the way.
  • Serving as your product’s security thought leader. Learn from your product and cybersecurity teams and share best practice in both directions. Be recognized in your product as the clear point of escalation and subject matter expert for IT Risk and Cyber domains.
  • Acting with urgency managing emerging issues. Proactively monitor Key Risk Indicators to ensure issues are identified, quantified, communicated, and managed in a timely manner, including recommendations for resolution and identifying the root cause/key themes.
  • Partnering and leading end-to-end across your product’s supply chain. Work collaboratively with product, technology, and business colleagues on an on-going basis for business-as-usual audit and regulatory engagements, risk activities and project initiatives. Work closely with Third Party Oversight teams to ensure effective technology risk management of vendors engaged by technology partners, with a focus on Cloud computing / emerging technologies
  • Building a vision around the next level of security maturity for Consumer and Community Bank (CCB) with inputs from the security organization and work with Product and Engineering Leaders to deliver on that vision. This vision must enable business outcomes and continuously raise the security bar and not one or the other.
  • Serving as a cyber risk advisor to the JPM Consumer and Community Bank (CCB) leadership team and help the organization focus and prioritize on initiatives with the greatest return on investment using the rich datasets we already have and standing up data systems if needed
  • Partnering with Engineering teams to solve complex problems on the cutting edge of fields like Payments and banking APIs
  • Enabling and teaming with application architects and engineering leaders to design secure, scalable and resilient applications
  • Hiring, shaping and developing a team of cyber risk advisors that are tightly integrated into the business

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Experience leading teams of architects that design cybersecurity products and solutions for public cloud-based applications and infrastructure
  • Experience leading complex projects and supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering enterprise level planning, design, and implementation of enterprise-level security solutions and controls related to:
  • Multiple security domains (e.g., mobile, application security, vulnerability reduction, data protection, encryption, logging and monitoring, network security, etc.)
  • Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) (e.g. code review, risk assessments, threat modeling, static code analysis, and dynamic application scanning)
  • Modern Security Engineering/Architecture practices (e.g. micro services, containers, orchestration, continuous integration & delivery pipelines, API first, service delivery & integration)
  • Product technologies
  • Experience developing and leading large, cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience working in regulated industries, in particular leveraging technology standards, frameworks, compliance, and industry recognized best practice / standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, PCI, SOC).

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $152,600 - $316,800/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
