As a Senior Associate, Cyber Risk & Analysis role at Capital One, you will work closely within our cyber security team, and with extended technical teams to manage and improve the Cyber Security Posture. As part of the Financial Services (FS) Information Security Office (ISO) Command Center, you will use our business’ management framework, SLQ2CQ, to deliver strategic business projects to improve the Cyber Security Posture of the Financial Services line of business.

We are seeking a dedicated and disciplined Project Management and Risk Management professional with cyber security experience, who excels in a team environment. They must be proficient in managing their own work independently, while influencing partners across the company. This person will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, the ability to quickly adapt to change, and be self motivated. In this role, you will deliver critical and strategic business projects with a cybersecurity focus and work closely with key stakeholders to drive risk reduction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed; manage complex up and downstream project impacts.
  • Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation
  • Act as a central Information Security point of contact for the Financial Services line of business
  • Serve as an expert in Capital One’s Information Security capabilities, solutions, policies, procedures and standards
  • Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
  • Provide ad hoc support on special Information Security hot topics for the business
  • Develop risk management reports and be able to tailor risk reporting and communications to upstream and downstream stakeholder audiences.
  • Draft agendas, manage risk management action items, and coordinate with stakeholders to develop risk management materials to support senior management discussions.
  • Must be comfortable learning and working in supporting applications, such as JIRA, Confluence, and Tableau
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion and expertise in cybersecurity, with an ability to be confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting or unpopular opinions.
  • Provide regular updates to team leadership on the overall Information Security health and risk environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple risk management projects while maintaining superior results.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 1.5 years of experience managing, consulting, auditing, or working in the fields of information security, technology, or risk management
  • At least 1 years of experience developing, evaluating, or implementing cybersecurity requirements, technology strategy, or governance structures
  • At least 1 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience managing, consulting, auditing, or working in the fields of information security, technology, or risk management
  • 2+ years of experience with cybersecurity or technology policies
  • 2+ years of experience in securing a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
