Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive data profiling exercises to identify potential issues, such as duplicate records, missing values, or inconsistent data formats. Evaluate data quality against predefined criteria and develop data quality metrics to measure and track progress over time.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop data quality assurance strategies. Employ data cleaning techniques, such as deduplication, validation, and standardization, to rectify inaccuracies and inconsistencies. By applying data quality rules and standards, ensure data consistency and reliability throughout the organization.
  • Implement robust data quality control processes to monitor the ongoing quality of data. Establish data quality benchmarks and implement data monitoring mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve data issues. Conduct regular audits and data quality checks to ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry regulations.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, R, Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience in data science, particularly in querying large data sets and transcribing information into meaningful insights.
  • At least 3 years in a data analyst role.
  • Demonstrated interest in national security, cyber security, business risk, or technology.
  • Analytical self-starter with passion for creative problem-solving and developing solutions to unstructured client problems.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Care for the quality of your work and the wellbeing of those around you.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Background in defense contracting, cyber security or supply chain management.
  • Deep aerospace, defense and/or federal government knowledge and experience.

Additional commentary

In this position, you will work closely with our team of data scientists, data engineers and data analysts, as well as other data stakeholders to establish data quality requirements, understand data usage patterns, and align data quality initiatives with organizational goals. You will provide insights and recommendations on data-related issues. You will actively participate in data integration projects, data migration efforts, and system upgrades, ensuring data quality is maintained throughout the data lifecycle.

Additionally, the data quality analyst will engage in ongoing training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven culture and foster a collective responsibility for data quality across the organization. You will facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members to continually improve data management practices and enhance data quality measures.

This role is essential for maintaining high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and consistency. By ensuring data quality and collaborating with a broader data team, you will contribute to the organization's success by enabling reliable decision-making, enhanced operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
