The Opportunity:

As a systems security and network security engineer, you can identify the tools and security systems needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the development and implementation of security solutions that will protect our military.

On our team, you’ll troubleshoot and analyze complex challenges for customers using your knowledge of data transfer and cybersecurity policy. You’ll use your curiosity for technology and market trends to further research and develop security solutions. Using your knowledge and experience in the Risk Management Framework, you’ll assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
  • Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas; leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

Job Requirements

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with supporting Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) execution, including the Navy RMF Process Guide (RPG), RMF Steps Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), eMASS Security Plan and artifact generation, eMASS workflows, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 security controls, cybersecurity risk assessment, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) development actions
  • 4+ years of experience with performing cybersecurity compliance testing using standard tools, including Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Experience with providing subject matter expertise of cross domain solutions and the bi-directional transfer between multiple networks of different classification levels, transmission protocol types, and partner organizations
  • Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders, devising and executing client deliverables, work independently, and lead the accomplishments of client tasks from inception to completion
  • Experience reviewing policy, planning and developing evidence documents, and writing test results for cross domain services standards
  • Ability to investigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications or technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple organizations
  • Ability to learn new technologies and implement updated rigorous security controls
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8140 Certification, including CompTIA Security+

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware
  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with analyzing technical and policy documentation for DoD organizations and implementing DoD directives
  • Experience with XML Schema Definition (XSD)
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and information technology
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), CISM, CCISO, CISSP, GIAC, GSLC, or CASP+ certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
