We are seeking a Navy Veteran with extensive Air and Ballistic Missile Defense operational and training experience to support the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Surface Advanced Warfighting School (SAWS) as a Tactics Mentor for the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program.

We need the rare skill set you have acquired in the Air and Ballistic Missile Defense warfare area to support schoolhouse instruction and performance analysis of surface ship tactical readiness and operational capability through data collection and analysis of performance metrics. This position will develop, evaluate, and update curricula for all SMWDC assigned surface force mission areas. In this role you will provide critical insight and evaluation to existing training materials and procedures ultimately resulting in crucial recommendations that will ensure technical accuracy, usability, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the AD/BMD Mission area; with a minimum of 5 years of experience onboard an AEGIS DDG and/or CG.
  • Strike Group, Fleet, or Major Training Command, Systems Testing Command, or similar military organization planning experience.
  • Qualified and experienced in a watch station with the authority to employ the AEGIS Weapons System (i.e., TAO, Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC).
  • Possess a Tactical Action Officer Qualification letter or BMD Watch Officer Qualification letter with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to support war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity evaluations.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a WTI (IAMD) qualified officer preferred. Aviation Officer qualification is acceptable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs (Access, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Word).

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 annually.

At Regions, the Cyber Security Architect contributes to the advancement of Regions’ cyber security program and its capabilities through developing, communicating, and implementing a security architecture. This position establishes secure development practices which increases the security of internal systems. Additionally, this position collaborates closely with key stakeholders and teams as part of business projects and/or initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Develops and establishes a strategic cyber security architecture and strategic vision, including standards and frameworks that are aligned with the overall business and Regions’ information technology strategy
  • Provides advisory and consultative services to businesses, information technology groups, and cyber security senior leadership
  • Works closely with Enterprise Architecture and Application Development groups to enhance the security posture of new and existing systems
  • Designs cyber security architecture, evaluates and mitigates potential risk, and approves implementation of systems and applications into production
  • Performs assessments using the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cyber Security Framework and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Cyber Assessment Tool to identify gaps and remediate deficiencies
  • Ensures systems and applications are implemented with compensating controls to meet regulatory requirements (e.g. GLBA, SOX, HIPPA, FFIEC, etc.) as well as other organizational compliance (PCI) requirements
  • Tracks metrics for compliance to internal cyber security standards set by application and system owners
  • Provides consultative services related to large business projects
  • May lead the work of junior architects and evaluate needs, assisting in the development of necessary skills and technical knowledge

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field
  • Seven (7) years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on software development, secure software development lifecycle (SDLC), or security architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design and implementation of cyber security solutions

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to effectively evaluate risk vs. reward
  • Ability to independently problem solve with sound judgement
  • Ability to translate complex technical information across all levels of the organization through communications and/or presentations

Ideal Candidate Skillset

  • Technical experience in systems integration or software engineering of identity and access management (IAM) solutions (such as BeyondTrust, CyberArk, AWS, Duo, OIM, Ping Identity, RadiantLogic, SailPoint, Okta, Active Directory, RACF)
  • Experience with role-based access controls and configuring automated provisioning and deprovisioning
  • Experience with SailPoint (version 7.0 or later) or another IGA/IAM platform
  • Experience implementing infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, engineering and deploying via CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, C#, C/C++, Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud strongly preferred

Additional Commentary

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary locations being Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, or Charlotte, NC. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

Job Range Target:

  • Minimum: $145,401.85 USD
  • Median: $178,760.00 USD

  • Provide accurate technical evaluations of the FMS equipment, software applications, full system, or network and documenting the security posture, capabilities, and vulnerabilities against applicable NIST controls.
  • Selecting and implementing security controls, timely completion of accreditation packages, formulating and implementing mitigations and maintaining the security posture of systems.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout a system’s lifecycle, validate system security requirements, formulate and maintain documentation and system certification and accreditation activities (planning, testing, assessing and coordinating).
  • Documenting preliminary or residual security risks for system operation & manage and approve Authorization Packages.
  • Monitoring and evaluating a system's compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security, resilience, and dependability requirements including performing validation steps, comparing actual results with expected results and analyze the differences to identify impact and risks at the software application, system, and network levels.
  • Work with team to provide solutions and to ensure continued functionality of systems within DoD RMF Framework

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ yrs of experience in Cybersecurity Domain
  • Experience with implementing and evaluating DoD STIG requirements, NIST RMF, IAVMs and Cybersecurity assessment tools (ACAS, Nessus, SCC, STIG Viewer)
  • Experience with cryptographic technologies
  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and NIST security controls
  • Knowledge of information system architecture and standards as they apply to cyber security
  • Minimum 8570 IASAE I Certification (i.e. CISSP or CASP+)
  • Travel: 25%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (engineering or another technical discipline) or 2 years of experience in lieu degree.

Desired Skills:
