The Position

The Cloud Security Engineer in Cloud Engineering and infrastructure Automation team will be responsible for defining, building, and implementing security capabilities in a multi-cloud environment and building automation for cloud security controls and remediation to enhance the cloud security posture. You will be part of a team of highly skilled engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security and compliance of our cloud-based systems and services. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to drive innovation and ensure the highest level of security for our cloud-based infrastructure and services.

Responsibilities

  • Security Tooling: Evaluate and implement security tools and technologies to enhance cloud security capabilities and manage their lifecycle.
  • Security Operations: Oversee day-to-day security operations in the cloud, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management in IaC and Containers.
  • Incident Response: Lead the response to security incidents and breaches in cloud systems, coordinating with cross-platform teams and leveraging cloud security, SIEM and cloud-native tools.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities to cross-platform engineering and operations team members and democratize cloud security.
  • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining best results implementing security practices.
  • Works under minimal supervision with general guidance from Technical Manager and as a Cloud Security SME, provides direction and guidance on Cloud Security to cross functional teams.
  • The right person for this position will safeguard cloud infrastructure, optimize infrastructure as Code (IAC) security practices, secure containerized environments, and ensure robust app security.

Job Requirements

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least five years functional and technical experience with Cloud technologies, three plus years experience in cloud security and a minimum of 2 years in DevOps and Container technologies.
  • Fluent in English, in both verbal and written communication.
  • Strong Understanding of enterprise security Solutions such as Wiz, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Splunk, Taegis, and Cloud Native tools.
  • Strong experience building and implementing auto remediation frameworks in AWS and Azure, building playbooks to remediate cloud resources.
  • Strong experience automating provisioning of cloud resources using AWS Service Management Connector, CloudFormation, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager and implementing pipeline-based deployment.
  • Technical understanding and experience with cloud networking within AWS/Azure cloud environments.
  • Undertstanding of Cloud Security Frameworks like FedRamp, NIST, ISO, etc., and Well-Architected Cloud Frameworks.
  • Strong ability to review architectural patterns for security in both AWS and Azure.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Awareness of developments in AI/ML Technologies within AWS and Azure.
  • Understanding operating systems and hardware/software platforms, including VDI infrastructure.
  • An understanding of network security, architecture and segmentation.
  • An understanding of encryption technologies and best practices.
  • Operational support and/or incident response experience.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize work – both engineering and cloud security control effectiveness testing – within a dynamic and ever-changing threat and technology landscape.
  • Proficiency with platform reliability engineering.
  • Ability to mentor, inspire, influence and motivate junior staff.
  • Experience in managing vendors and managed service partners.
